About our centre
Wonderschool Woden is an Early Learning Centre that encourages diversity, respect and discovery during this important stage of children’s lives.
We look forward to welcoming children aged 6 weeks – School age and their families seeking an exceptional learning environment with contemporary approaches to early childhood.
We know that children take what they learn from their earliest experiences, and that these experiences mold their futures.
Every day at Wonderschool is a chance for exploration, discovery, education, nurturing relationships, connecting with the environment, and being present in the moment. We encourage a sense of curiosity, intrigue and wonder through our learning experiences.
At Wonderschool Woden, your children will discover, learn and play in a brand-new purpose-built early learning centre, with light-filled rooms, large open classrooms, and an expansive outdoor play area waiting to be discovered by little hands and big minds.
This is our newest early childhood service located in the suburb of Woden in Canberra’s south.
We understand your desire to stay connected with your child and keep up to date with their learning and progress. At Wonderschool, we don’t rely on technology to do this, with no apps or website updates on your child.
Our focus is on providing authentic, one-one-one assessments on your child every six months inline with The Early Years Framework (2009). Relationships are at the core of everything we do. We use moments during drop off and pick up to keep you informed of your child’s day.
We encourage ‘Morning Moments’ with your child – the chance to settle them in and join us for a light breakfast at Wonderschool Woden before heading in different directions for the day.
Enriching learning experiences that help build communities – e.g. your child can go on local walks in the surrounding suburbs and children will learn about the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and how we can all play a part in looking after it.
Parents are welcome to come in and share their own skills with the children – e.g. music education, cultural experiences.
Sustainable classrooms – We are committed to do our part for the environment and teach the children about responsibility and accountability. We provide a cloth nappy service and have recycling programs in place along with composting, worm farms and limiting food wastage.
Creative arts are promoted and supported – your child will have opportunities to express themselves through music, movement, painting and sculpture.
Natural, rustic gardens and areas where children can take risks, explore, learn about nature and create memories.
All of our meals are made from scratch and cater to all children from our commercial kitchen. The menu is in keeping with Nutrition Australia and modified to meet our children’s dietary and cultural needs.
